DaVinci Shingles

DaVinci Composite Shingles

Why DaVinci works for the projects we take on:

Weight — about a quarter the weight of natural slate, which opens up homes whose existing structure couldn’t support a slate roof

Class A fire rating — the highest fire protection rating available for roofing

Impact resistance — engineered to handle hail and falling debris without cracking

Long warranty — typically 30 to 50 years depending on the product line

Authentic profile — the molded shingle pattern reads as slate from any reasonable distance, not as a synthetic

DaVinci Composite Slate at Paul John & Son

We install DaVinci composite slate when a homeowner wants slate’s look and long life without slate’s weight. Natural slate weighs enough that some homes need structural reinforcement to support it, and that adds significant cost to the project. DaVinci gives the same architectural profile in a material that weighs about a quarter as much. Every install gets the same custom metal flashing we fabricate for natural slate roofs in our Woburn shop. The flashing is what makes the roof watertight, regardless of what’s on top.

Every detail planned before any slate goes down

The valley flashing runs the seam where two roof planes meet, snow guards are placed across the slate field in a diamond pattern to keep snow from sheeting off, and Blueskin High-Temp seals the wall transitions.
